Since the beginning of the session we have been reporting on SB 235 and our work to incorporate amendments to put some "teeth" into the bill, to make sure all Oregon producers of air pollution comply with the Clean Air Act.  Although our amendments have been adopted, there is risk that these might be stripped out of the bill if it moves out of Ways and Means.

Our goal is work to pass the bill with our amendments.  If that doesn’t happen, and the bill passes as originally drafted, then the bill will actually tie the hands of DEQ from regulating large factory farm operations and the air pollution they produce, and therefore will be a rollback that we will try to prevent from passing.
