The "Big Look" Task Force received funding during the Special Session for a work plan to engage more than 10,000 Oregonians and inform 1.2 million people. You are encouraged to attend task force events in your area to speak up for improving land use planning laws.

The Big Look's next meeting will be on May 29th in Salem. Check out this web site for information about the Big Look and other meetings in your area. Also look at 1000 Friends of Oregon Blueprint for Oregon's Future for ways we can make land use planning laws help solve climate change and protect Oregon's special places.
The Legislature also approved funding for the Department of Land Conservation and Development and the Department of Justice to review and process Measure 49 claims. Staffing will be available to both claimants and neighbors as the claims are processed. All parties will get questions answered promptly and valid claims will be processed in a manner that honors the will of the voters.

For more information contact Dan Eisenbeis at 1000 Friends of Oregon or Peggy Lynch at League of Woman Voters of Oregon.
