Expanding Oregon’s Electronic Recycling Program
HB 2626
The bill creates a program that requires manufacturer responsibility
to set up a system to responsibly recycle computers and televisions or the
companies must pay into a parallel state system.
By 2009, all
Oregonians should have a means to safely and conveniently dispose of
their old computers and televisions. Additionally, it establishes a landfill ban
for these products.
Passed the House and Senate resoundingly.
